welcome to some daily readings by tally. they may or may not be daily. the cards i draw will probably be from droqen's deck, especially at first, but i do have several tarot decks so no guarantees. for this reason, it is in the tarot board instead of the droqen's tarot board.

ask.. which dream is real?
you're lost in all your dreams

wishes and ideation...
daydreaming, fantasy.
vision quest. future possibility.

today was a simple day at home, doing chore, unwinding from vacation and returning to work. what is this card telling me?

what do I see in the cups? i think the traditional tarot has specific interpretations/things that are in each cup. what i like about droqen's cards is that i don't know what these traditional ones are, and it is not immediately evident to me what they are supposed. here's my interpretation.
  • a scorpion. perhaps this represents danger
  • purple vapors. what does this mean? i think it's a potion of some sort. is it good or bad? it's hard to say. i think purple could go either way.
  • a snake, for temptation.
  • coins, for wealth.
  • tombstone, for death.
  • clouds, for dreaming.
  • i can't decide what this final one is. i think it is a man. perhaps for practicality, stability. reality.

at the bottom of the card i see two doorways. at first I thought these were tombstones but i think they are doorways. i think it means when one door closes, another door opens. the character is climbing a ladder, reaching for the cups that float above, when there is a new doorway to the right at the bottom. perhaps instead of getting too distracted by what could be, one should focus on what is. am I lost in dreams right now? perhaps. i may be lost in my dreams, but is that such a bad thing? i am not sure which one is real, but i think i will stay away from the reality for a little while and ponder where i can go creatively. i've felt the creative spark coming back, in a slow way like embers rather than quickly like lightning, and i think that is a good thing. coming back to reading. doing more writing in various ways. developing a tarot practice.

ask.. how can i celebrate my individual strength?
you're productively working with others who see things differently.

i drew this card reversed. I think it represents some of my sentiments about my day job. so I'm not necessarily productively working with others...

lack of cohesion, lack of teamwork, apathy, poor motivation, conflict, ego, competition

I like to look at both meanings but try to look up reversed meanings when they come up for me. sometimes I wish more guidebooks had this as an option. not all of mine do.

I suppose this card has told me some things I already know, but not what needs to be done. or perhaps looking at my individual strength is the answer. I have done too much of that at work, it feels like. Maybe instead I focus on other individual strengths, like my hobbies.

someone said they draw an extra card to deal with the complication presented by reversed cards, like as additional information or clarification? i designed the "ask" prompts originally to kinds work that way actually but im not sure it comes through or is useful... because on the phone, you can only do one card at once, my idea was that you could "chain/combo" your cards, drawing a second one to sorta answer the question posed by the first.

another bit of tarot advice, it's useful to propose a course of action and ask the tarot how it will go, i like to experimentally ask "what will i gain" and "what will it cost", im workshopping thesebut the idea is to gain information on an action rather than only a situation, i think it will mostly just describe the situation back to you, but not necessarily show you the way out

P.S. ty for the explicit invitation to comment i hope this long comment was ok 😅

yes np, I appreciate it! this is interesting. the ask as a question for the next card definitely didn't land for me without that clarification. I am also usually pulling a single card to take with me (asking "what do I need today?") so I don't always have the rest of the deck with me. perhaps I do need to be carrying more.... hmm....

how do you draw your cards? for my daily single card draws, i'm in the habit of tucking one into my journal the night before to bring with me to work the next day. i did that yesterday before opening my journal and realizing today is the full moon, so i'd like to do a full moon reading tonight as well. i started asking the deck "what do I need today?" as my question. I like to cut the deck, hitting it with my hand and spilling it over, hovering my hand and pulling a card (facedown) before tucking it away in my journal for the next day.

i really love your journal-tucking practice, where you end up carrying the card with you for a while before looking at it... that sounds really nice, kinda magical! and super appropriate to the context of work, i think, because you have to go away from home regularly, so it's nice to take something with you of home, of yourself, a little capsule.

i think my card-drawing is pretty normal, except, i do a really intentionally loose overhand shuffle, and if a single card flops out after i have a question in mind then i will usually include it in the reading somehow. two cards is borderline, if three or more flop out then i definitely just put them back in though hehe.

anyway i'll shuffle and then sometimes deal out the top x cards (especially for larger readings) or sometimes split (or ask The Querent to split) the deck into a number of piles. oh, i forgot, though, when i'm dealing out cards and i have a querent, i always ask them to split the deck into three piles -- if i'm going to deal the cards out one at a time from the top, i still do this, i just ask them to put the three piles back together afterwards, which usually ends up not the same as when they started, but i don't explicitly request this. i started doing this because the person i learned tarot from (tanya!!!) did it. i don't know why.

i've mostly stopped doing in my personal readings though! i wonder why. maybe i should start again...

did you get the lazy river experience out of life yesterday? :0

that's very fun thanks for sharing! I do think so, I think both of my readings yesterday are pushing me back into creative pastimes. I did a full moon reading for the buck moon as well. I'd like to have my own notes on spreads I like to do but. not there yet. I did this one from labyrinthos, which felt appropriate since I was using droqens deck:
https://labyrinthos.co/blogs/learn-tarot-with-labyrinthos-academy/a-full-moon-tarot-spread-to-add-to-your-full-moon-ritual

I will need to upload my image late as it is way too large for the 128kb forum limit and I'm not sure how to resize it on my phone

I was too tired to post this last night so I didn't! I took more notes in my journal instead of sharing here as it felt more personal. I still like posting here as a reminder or accountability and to see how other people do tarot. I have been doing this essentially in isolation until now so this has been good.

good job default forum settings, 128kb is very sane. i should see if i can make an in-forum tool for reducing quality/size of photos and images that you wanna upload so you dont have to do it externally

full moon reading omg! i need to do one for the next full moon! amazing

this card seems pretty relevant for me. feels like it'll always be relevant. a good reminder to look at the treasures of life in front of me and not take it for granted. I am in an apathy rut a lot of the time. Work days can be boring and tedious. I complain about a lot of things.

but also, today the sky looked really pretty when the sun set. I ate good food with friends. I got a free slurpee. there is lots in life to savor.

hello it has been a couple of days. I drew cards on some of those days but it was too much work to make a Forum Post so I did not. I don't want to make this a whole thing so it becomes too hard to do tarot readings!

what im thinking about is, being more intentional with my tarot questions, thinking of what questions I like to ask or how to apply my daily readings, since sometimes it feels direction less. then again, one piece is just learning more about each card in general even if it isn't answering a question for me.

definitely prioritize what makes it easier to do your readings :) i'm always temped to reply when you make a post, but i'm not sure whether it's helpful or disruptive hehe. if you ever have a kind of doubt or query though i'd love to chime in! i just don't always feel like it's the right moment to intrude!

i did some readings today with a few friends who are also into tarot and i love to get new perspectives from other people. like, today i was reading the three of swords as "heartbreak" but this new friend was suggesting that was closer to the five of cups, and the three of swords is more like, necessary pain that the querent needs to go through and is avoiding. really great to hear that take, but, i don't think i could do every reading i ever do with someone hanging out next to me giving me new information either... tough balance.

there were certainly days during my tarot-drawing process where i prioritized just pondering the card over connecting it to my life or my question that day!

if you want to reply every time that's totally fine with me. I enjoy your input and feels like it helps me think about tarot in different ways. I think forum pacing (instead of DMs) takes away pressure of replying or feeling disruptive.

today (2025-07-17) I drew the magician. it feels like such a powerful card to flip over. I'm going to reflect on it more throughout the day.

I made myself a little grimoire. I wanted a place to easily look up tarot meanings as well as take notes. there are so many places I could look for meanings... my physical books, droqens reference, web sites... I want to pull them all together with my personal interpretations. It's also important to me that it's physical. I have a little A5 ish sized Muiji notebook that is only 60 pages that I decided to use. it's unlined. I pulled the extra 16 pages from a different book and decides to use the front and back covers as pages as well. I wanted to have one page per card to have the space to doodle and to have both upright and inverse meanings. can't wait for it to be filled up and look well loved.

omg yes a grimoire! that reminds me one of the tarot guidebooks i encountered had a section for "notes" and... i wanted to include a section like that in mine, a book to fill out with personal meaning. filling a page per card sounds so fun.
